Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-06.

Acceptance

By creating a Soundtrack account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the app. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Soundtrack.

What Soundtrack does

Soundtrack records your running workouts and the songs you listened to during them. It does not host or distribute music — playback is performed by Apple Music on your device, and you must have an active Apple Music subscription (or local-library equivalent) for the music portion of the app to work.

Health & safety

Soundtrack is not a medical device and provides no medical advice. Pace, distance, calorie, elevation, and heart-rate figures are estimates produced by consumer hardware and software; they may be inaccurate and must not be relied on for medical or safety decisions. Consult a physician before starting an exercise program.

You are responsible for your own safety while running. Running — especially outdoors, near traffic, or while listening to music through headphones — carries inherent risks, including serious injury. Stay aware of your surroundings, obey traffic laws, and don't interact with the app while moving. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you assume all risks associated with physical activity undertaken while using Soundtrack.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Don't impersonate other people. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (e.g. spam usernames, harassment via shared run pages).

Your content

You retain ownership of your runs and any data you upload. By marking a run as unlisted or public, you grant us permission to display it to anyone with the share link.

Acceptable use

Don't use Soundtrack to harass, abuse, or harm other people. Don't try to break the service, scrape it, or interfere with other users' experience.

No warranty

Soundtrack is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of workout metrics. We do our best to keep your data safe but we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for personal injury arising from physical activity undertaken while using the app; and (b) our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months prior — currently $0, since the app is free. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Apple App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal compliance, and IP claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time via Profile → Account → Delete Account. We can suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
